Plackett-Burman Design and Response Surface Optimization of Medium Trace Nutrients for Glycolipopeptide Biosurfactant Production
The glycolipopeptide biosurfactant produced by Pseudomonas aeruginosa strain IKW1 reduced the surface tension of fermentation broth from 71.31 to 24.62 dynes/cm at a critical micelle concentration of 20.80 mg/L and is recommended for the formulation of inexpensive pharmaceutical products that require surface-active compounds. Response surface modeling and optimization of major medium variables for glycolipopeptide production
Abstract An unusual strain of Pseudomonas aeruginosa readily produced a glycolipopeptide compound which reduced surface tension of fermentation broth from 71.31 dynes/cm to 24.62 dynes/cm at aExpand
Statistical and Artificial Neural Network Approaches to Modeling and Optimization of Fermentation Conditions for Production of a Surface/Bioactive Glyco-lipo-peptide
Bioprocess conditions namely temperature, pH, agitation and duration were comparatively modeled using statistical and artificial neural network methods to predict and optimize product yield using the matrix of a central composite rotatable design (CCRD). Expand
A Pseudomonas aeruginosa Strain Ikw1 Produces an Unusual Polymeric Surface-Active Compound in Waste Frying Oil-Minimal Medium
A Gram-negative bacterium isolated from the sub-surface water of Ikang River, Niger Delta region, Nigeria produced an unusual biosurfactant in waste frying oil-minimal medium. Cultural andExpand
Selection of Enterobacter cloacae Strain POPE6 for Fermentative Production of Extracellular Lipase on Palm Kernel Oil Processing Effluent
An Enterobacter cloacae strain was isolated from palm oil processing effluent and demonstrated ability to elaborate extracellular lipase on Tween 80-minimal medium using the rapid plate assay ofExpand
Statistical Distribution of Halotolerant/Halophilic Biosurfactant-Producing Yeasts in Qua Iboe Estuarine Sediments
We isolated 100 morphologically-distinct halotolerant/halophilic yeasts from five estuarine sediments in Qua Iboe estuary, South-South Nigeria. A three-way analysis of variance (ANOVA) of theExpand
Water Soluble Fraction of Crude Oil Uncouples Protease Biosynthesis and Activity in Hydrocarbonoclastic Bacteria; Implications for Natural Attenuation
Three hydrocarbonoclastic bacteria isolated from crude oil-impacted mesotidal waters of the Niger Delta area of Nigeria, and identified, by 16S rRNA sequencing, as Vibrio fluvialis OWPB63, SerratiaExpand
Comparative Analysis of Determination Methods of Glyphosate Degradation by Trichoderma asperellum Strain JK-28: A Multivariate Statistical Approach
Aims: This study aimed at demonstrating the ability of a mold species, isolated from a rice farm agricultural soil, chronically treated with glyphosate herbicide, to degrade glyphosate and to compareExpand
