Antifungal clerodane diterpenes from Macaranga monandra (L) Muell. et Arg. (Euphorbiaceae).
Bioassay-guided fractionation led to the isolation of two active clerodane-type diterpenes that were elucidated by spectroscopic methods as kolavenic acid and 2-oxo-kol avenic acid as well as moderate growth inhibition in Phomopsis viticola and Botrytis cinerea.
A rapid bioassay for bactericides against the catfish pathogens Edwardsiella ictaluri and Flavobacterium columnare
Among the antibiotics evaluated, doxycycline and tetracycline appear more effective against E. ictaluri and F. columnare than either drug control, and this bioassay is rapid, reproducible and economical for evaluating a large number of compounds and extracts.
Temperature effects on biomass, geosmin, and 2-methylisoborneol production and cellular activity by Nocardia spp. and Streptomyces spp. isolated from rainbow trout recirculating aquaculture systems
S. luridiscabiei appears to be a likely contributor of geosmin and MIB in the RAS.
Compounds with selective toxicity toward the musty-odor cyanobacterium Oscillatoria perornata.
In vitro comparisons of the inhibitory activity of florfenicol, copper sulphate and potassium permanganate towards Aeromonas hydrophila and Flavobacterium columnare
In vitro evaluation of florfenicol, copper sulphate, and potassium permanganate inhibited the growth of A. hydrophila and F. columnare more than CuSO4 and KMnO4.
