This review focuses on one insect pest, namely Tuta absoluta (Meyrick, 1917) (Lepidoptera: Gelechiidae), which is impacting significantly the tomato value chains as farmers were unaware of the pest and unprepared to control it.

Assessment of the current distribution and concentrations of As, Pb, Hg, Cd, and Cr in farmed catfish and tilapia, fish feed, and pond sediment in Tanzania is important to establish the potential dietary exposure to heavy metals from aquaculture sources and recommends continued surveillance given potential bioaccumulation of these heavy metals in fish.
