Spatial and temporal variability in intertidal assemblages dominated by the mussel Brachidontes rodriguezii (d’Orbigny, 1846)
Differences in structure were much greater between localities than among replicates within each locality, suggesting organic enrichment, disturbance and competitive interactions are probably the main processes determining structure in this intertidal rocky shore community.
Structure and dynamics of the biota associated with Macrocystis pyrifera (Phaeophyta) from the Beagle Channel, Tierra del Fuego*
The community associated to the kelp Macrocystis pyrifera from the Beagle Channel was studied and differences in taxa composition when comparing two different environments were found.
Temporal and spatial patterns of annelid populations in intertidal sediments of the Quequén Grande estuary (Argentina)
Temporal and spatial patterns of polychaete and oligochaete populations inhabiting intertidal sediments of the Quequén Grande estuary (Buenos Aires Province, Argentina) were analysed monthly during a yearly period to characterise the assemblage of annelids.
Allatotropin: An Ancestral Myotropic Neuropeptide Involved in Feeding
Immunochemical, physiological and bioinformatics evidence advocates that AT is an ancestral neuropeptide involved in myoregulatory activities associated with meal ingestion and digestion.
Phenotypic Differentiation of Ecologically Significant Brachidontes Species Co-Occurring in Intertidal Mussel Beds from the Southwestern Atlantic
Well-preserved specimens of the two species of Brachidontes are distinguishable on the basis of shell characters, some of them previously ignored, over their combined latitudinal range.
A new limnic species of Macrostomum (Platyhelminthes: Macrostomida) from Argentina and its muscle arrangement labeled with phalloidin
Use of shell-shape to discriminate between Brachidontes rodriguezii and Brachidontes purpuratus species (Mytilidae) in the transition zone of their distributions (south-western Atlantic)

A feasible way is described for the identification of B. rodriguezii and B. purpuratus, two small-sized species of Brachidontes distributed in the warm and cold temperate sectors of the south-western Atlantic.
The effects of grazing activity by the limpet Siphonaria lessoni Blainville, 1824 (Gastropoda) on the Brachidontes rodriguezii (dOrbigny, 1846) (Bivalvia) community

Population dynamics of the intertidal mytilid "Brachidontes Rodriguezii" (Bivalvia) on a rocky shore
The statistical analyses indicated that both the temporal and spatial variations of B. rodriguezii production were significant, and the population always showed a high percentage of recruits throughout a year, with a maximum of 58% recruits in Necochea during the summer.
REGIONAL-SCALE COMPOSITIONAL AND SIZE FIDELITY OF ROCKY INTERTIDAL COMMUNITIES FROM THE PATAGONIAN ATLANTIC COAST

Abstract The use of rocky intertidal assemblages in paleoecology and conservation paleobiology studies is limited because these environments have low preservation potential. Here, we evaluate the…
