A new synthesis of 4-[(prop-2-en-1-yloxy)methyl]-1,3-dioxolan-2-one (AGC) was performed by Williamson ether synthesis from 4-(hydroxymethyl)-1,3-dioxolan-2-one. Dicyclocarbonates were synthesized by UV thiol–ene coupling of allyl-cyclocarbonate with a 2,2 0-oxydiethanethiol. This photochemical thiol–ene reaction was carried out under air, with neither… (More)
Continuation techniques have been known to successfully describe bifurcation diagrams appearing in slow-fast systems with more than one slow variable (see eg. ). In this paper we investigate the usefulness of numerical continuation techniques dealing with some solved and some open problems in the study of planar singular perturbations. More precisely,… (More)
Canards are solutions of slow-fast systems that spend long times near branches of repelling equilibria, periodic orbits, or higher-dimensional invariant sets. Here, we report on the observation of a new type of canard orbit, labeled a canard of mixed type. This canard orbit is a hybrid of the classical limit cycle canards, which spend long times near… (More)
Isolated cells can be kept in steady-state conditions for very long periods of time when inserted into dialysis microfibers and perifused with a nutrient-containing solution. Using this system, stable 31P NMR spectra have been obtained on dog kidney tubules for a period of 13 h.
