A case of complete dysphagia, requiring surgical intervention, which occurred following bimaxillary osteotomy is described. A brief resume of the relevant anatomy and physiology is included with a discussion of the possible aetiology of this complication.
A method of closing the radial forearm free flap donor site defect with a defatted, full-thickness skin graft is described. Its advantages of improved patient mobilization, protection of tendons, and cosmesis are discussed with reference to 16 consecutive patients treated over a period of 1 year.
Implant-supported single-tooth crowns are suitable alternative restorations to partial dentures and bridges. A case of cervicofacial necrotising fasciitis is reported. The resulting treatment was successful but disfiguring. The diagnosis and management of this condition is discussed with particular regard to features which might allow earlier diagnosis.
