These results provide the first proof of concept for linking passive sampling of lipid-rich tissue with cell-based bioassays, and could be further extended to other lipid rich species and a wider range of bioanalytical end points.
Enhancement of the Antioxidant and Anticancer Activities of Berberis koreana Bark by Using a Low Temperature and High-Pressure Extraction Process
The results indicate that this low temperature and high pressure extraction technique results in the efficient extraction of bioactive compounds from rigid plant materials and could also be combined with other techniques to improve extraction yields and identify new biologically active substances from relatively hard plants.
Adaptive stress response pathways induced by environmental mixtures of bioaccumulative chemicals in dugongs.
Altered oxidative stress response was observed with both individual chemicals and blubber extracts subject to metabolic activation by rat liver S9 fraction, suggesting the relevance and utility of incorporating metabolic enzymes into in vitro bioassays.
Comparison of Antioxidant and Glutathione S-Transferase Activities of Extracts from Acer mono and A. okamotoanum
ABSTRACT : This study was performed to investigate antioxidant activities and glutathione S-transferase (GST) activityaccording to parts of the Acer mono and A. okamotoanum . Most extracts showed…
Enhancement of Skin Immune Activation Effect of Collagen Peptides Isolated from Asterias amurensis
- H. Jeong, Min-chul Kwon, H. Lee
- Chemistry, Biology
- 2008
It can be concluded that the relatively low molecular weight peptide, fucoidan, from A. amurensis has excellent cosmetic and immunomodulatory activities, which can be considered as a possible resource of new cosmetic agents for skin Immunomodulation.
Immuno-Regulatory Effect on Centella asiatica L. Urban Extraction Solvent Associated with Ultrasonification Process

Enhancement of Immunomodulatory and Anticancer Activity of Fucoidan by Nano Encapsulation
- S. A. Qadir, Min-chul Kwon, S. You
- Biology, Chemistry
- 1 December 2008
When the fucoidan was encapsulated in lecithin, its anticancer as well as its immunomodulatory activity proved to be superior from that of itself in pure form.
Enhancement of Anticancer Activity of Acer mono by High Pressure Extraction Process
- M. Jeong, Seung-Seop Kim, H. Lee
- Chemistry
- 2009
We investigated a method to improve anticancer activities of Acer mono by ultra high pressure extraction process. The extract yields by ultra high pressure were 9.49% and 9.87% for 5 min and 15 min…
