These results demonstrate that SRS5 directly activates the expression of downstream genes HY5, BBX21, and BBX22 and is a target of COP1-mediated degradation in Arabidopsis, and indicates that S RS5 is a positive regulator of photomorphogenesis.

It is reported that CAT2 functions in early seedling growth by scavenging H2 O2 and stimulating ACX2/3 activity, as this activity was inhibited in cat2-1.
