Device-to-device (D2D) communications as underlays of cellular networks facilitate diverse local services and reduce base station traffic. However, D2D communication may cause interference with the primary cellular network. To avoid this problem, the network should flexibly allocate its resources and select a proper mode for users. Here, we formulate a(More)
Epigenetic gene silencing by aberrant DNA methylation of gene promoter regions is a nonmutagenic but heritable epigenetic mechanism that may mistakenly cause the silencing of important cancer-related tumor suppressor genes. Using a transgenic, V79-derived, mammalian cell line (G12) that contains a bacterial gpt reporter gene in its DNA, we can study(More)
This report is part of an extensive biomarker study conducted in a Chinese occupational population with benzene exposures ranging from 0.06 to 122 ppm (median exposure of 3.2 ppm). All urinary benzene metabolites measured in this study were significantly elevated after exposure to benzene at or above 5 ppm. Among these metabolites, however, only(More)
BACKGROUND Postpartum haemorrhage (PPH) is one of the major contributors to maternal mortality and morbidity worldwide. Active management of the third stage of labour has been proven to be effective in the prevention of PPH. Syntometrine is more effective than oxytocin but is associated with more side-effects. Carbetocin, a long-acting oxytocin agonist(More)
BACKGROUND FOXP3 was thought to express in the T-cell lineage exclusively until recently when FOXP3 was shown to be expressed by cancer cells. It was indicated that FOXP3 may play a wider role in biology by endowing tumor cells with immune suppressive activity. However, researches between FOXP3 and lymph node metastasis of gastric cancer were relatively(More)
We report a case of posterior wall intramural pregnancy in a 36-year-old primigravida at 6 weeks gestation. Sonographic examination showed a viable intramural pregnancy distorting the contour of the uterus. The pregnancy was terminated by intrafetal injection of potassium chloride followed by intra-amniotic methotrexate injection.
Chronic neuropathic pain is an intractable pain with few effective treatments. Moderate cold stimulation can relieve pain, and this may be a novel train of thought for exploring new methods of analgesia. Transient receptor potential melastatin 8 (TRPM8) ion channel has been proposed to be an important molecular sensor for cold. Here we investigate the role(More)
OBJECTIVE The purpose of this study was to explore the feasibility of therapeutic angiogenesis in myocardial infarction induced by hepatocyte growth factor (HGF) mediated by ultrasound-targeted microbubble destruction. METHODS Forty Wistar rats were divided into 4 groups after the models of myocardial infarction were prepared: (1) HGF, ultrasound, and(More)
BACKGROUND Nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) has emerged as the major cause of chronic liver injury. Intestinal barrier plays an important role in the pathogenis of NAFLD. The aim of this article was to assess intestinal immune barrier function during the development of NAFLD. METHODS Totally 60 male Sprague-Dawley (SD) rats were divided into 2(More)
PURPOSE OF REVIEW Despite evidence that active management of the third stage of labour reduces the incidence of postpartum haemorrhage, expectant management is still widely practised. Factors accounting for this situation include the desire for a more natural experience of childbirth, the philosophy that active management is unnecessary in low-risk women,(More)
