Tet-Mediated Formation of 5-Carboxylcytosine and Its Excision by TDG in Mammalian DNA
It is demonstrated that 5mC and 5hmC in DNA are oxidized to 5-carboxylcytosine (5caC) by Tet dioxygenases in vitro and in cultured cells, suggesting that oxidation of 5m C by Tet proteins followed by TDG-mediated base excision of 5caC constitutes a pathway for active DNA demethylation. Expand
A Draft Sequence of the Rice Genome (Oryza sativa L. ssp. japonica)
The genome of the japonica subspecies of rice, an important cereal and model monocot, was sequenced and assembled by whole-genome shotgun sequencing and suggests that the genome contains 32,000 to 50,000 genes. Expand
A chromosome conformation capture ordered sequence of the barley genome.
The importance of the barley reference sequence for breeding is demonstrated by inspecting the genomic partitioning of sequence variation in modern elite germplasm, highlighting regions vulnerable to genetic erosion. Expand
Genome-wide discovery and characterization of maize long non-coding RNAs
Intriguingly, the inheritance of lncRNA expression patterns in 105 recombinant inbred lines reveals apparent transgressive segregation, and maize lncRNAs are less affected by cis- than by trans-genetic factors. Expand

Adrenal Cushing’s syndrome is caused by excess production of glucocorticoid from adrenocortical tumors and hyperplasias, which leads to metabolic disorders. We performed whole-exome sequencing of 49Expand
Genetic analysis and characterization of a new maize association mapping panel for quantitative trait loci dissection
This maize panel can be used for association mapping analysis targeting multiple agronomic and quality traits with optimal association model, and similarly to the model controlling both population structure and relative kinship (Q + K) in this panel. Expand
Dissecting meiotic recombination based on tetrad analysis by single-microspore sequencing in maize
A high-resolution recombination map reveals that crossovers are unevenly distributed across the genome and are more likely to occur in the genic than intergenic regions, especially common in the 5′- and 3′-end regions of annotated genes. Expand
The SET Domain Proteins SUVH2 and SUVH9 Are Required for Pol V Occupancy at RNA-Directed DNA Methylation Loci
The results indicated that SUVH2 and/or SUVH9 not only interact with the chromatin-remodeling complex termed DDR (DMS3, DRD1, and RDM1) but also with the newly characterized complex composed of two conserved Microrchidia family proteins, MORC1 and MORC6. Expand
Functional display of foreign protein on surface of Escherichia coli using N‐terminal domain of ice nucleation protein
It is demonstrated that the InaK N‐terminal region alone can direct translocation of foreign proteins to the cell surface and can be employed as a potential cell surface display motif. Expand
Mendelian and Non-Mendelian Regulation of Gene Expression in Maize
Along with genes showing Mendelian inheritance in the RIL population, there are also genes whose expression level and variation in the progeny could not be predicted based on parental difference, indicating that non-Mendelian factors also contribute to expression variation. Expand
