Intracellular Glutathione Depletion by Oridonin Leads to Apoptosis in Hepatic Stellate Cells
Investigation of the apoptotic effects of 7,20-epoxy-ent-kaurane (oridonin), a diterpenoid isolated from Rabdosia rubescens, and its underlying mechanisms were investigated in rat HSC cell line, HSC-T6 found that oridonin inhibited cell viability of HSC -T6 in a concentration-dependent manner. A case of huge primary liposarcoma in the liver.
A 61-year-old female patient who suffered from a huge primary liposarcoma in the central portion of the liver had the clinical presentations of fever, nausea, vomiting, jaundice, and body weight loss. Expand
Activation of IL6/IGFIR Confers Poor Prognosis of HBV-Related Hepatocellular Carcinoma through Induction of OCT4/NANOG Expression
The expression of pluripotency-related genes is associated with early tumor recurrence and is regulated by IL6-induced IGF/IGFIR activation, particularly in HBV-HCC. Expand
Circulating microRNA-196a/b are novel biomarkers associated with metastatic gastric cancer.
It is proposed that circulating miR-196a/b serve as a more sensitive and specific novel biomarker than carbohydrate antigen 19-9 for GC monitor, diagnosis and prognosis. Expand
In vivo immune modulatory activity of hepatic stellate cells in mice
In vivo evidence of immune modulatory activity of HSCs in mice using an islet transplantation model is demonstrated and may lead to better understanding of liver immunobiology and development of new strategies for treatment of liver diseases. Expand
2-(2-Fluorobenzamido)benzoate ethyl ester (EFB-1) inhibits superoxide production by human neutrophils and attenuates hemorrhagic shock-induced organ dysfunction in rats.
EFB-1 is a new inhibitor of cAMP-specific PDE that potently suppresses O(2•-) release and CD11b expression by human neutrophils and attenuates T/H-induced MOD in rats. Expand

Results demonstrate that SMG-1 is a natural inhibitor of the FMLP receptor, which may have the potential to be developed into a useful new therapeutic agent for treating neutrophilic inflammatory diseases. Expand
Osthol attenuates neutrophilic oxidative stress and hemorrhagic shock-induced lung injury via inhibition of phosphodiesterase 4.
The data suggest that osthol has effective anti-inflammatory activity in human neutrophils through the suppression of PDE4 and protects significantly against T/H shock-induced ALI in rats. Expand
The Bioactive Extract of Pinnigorgia sp. Induces Apoptosis of Hepatic Stellate Cells via ROS-ERK/JNK-Caspase-3 Signaling
It appears that Pin leads to apoptosis in HSC-T6 cells through ROS-mediated ERK/JNK signaling and caspase-3 activation and pinnigorgiol A serves as a bioactive compound of Pin and may exhibit therapeutic potential by clearance of HSCs. Expand
Using indocyanine green test to avoid post-hepatectomy liver dysfunction.
Hepatectomies will be safer if the estimated ratio of remnant liver volume prior to surgery is higher than the calculated value of RR = 1.98 x ICG + 0.3672. Expand
