The SELEX experiment (E781) at Fermilab is a 3-stage magnetic spectrometer for the high statistics study of charm hadroproduction out to large x F using 600 GeV Σ − , p and π beams. The main features of the spectrometer are: • high precision silicon vertex system • broad-coverage particle identification with TRD and RICH • 3-stage lead glass photon detector… (More)
Tocopherols, which are vitamin E compounds, play an important role in maintaining human health. Compared with other staple foods, maize grains contain high level of tocopherols. Two F2 populations (K22/CI7 and K22/Dan340, referred to as POP-1 and POP-2, respectively), which share a common parent (K22), were developed and genotyped using a GoldenGate assay… (More)
The SELEX experiment (E781) is 3-stage magnetic spectrometer for a high statistics study of hadroproduction of charm baryons out to large x F using 650 Gev Σ − , π − and p beams. The main features of the spectrometer are: a high precision silicon vertex system, powerful particle identification provided by TRD and RICH, forward Λ s decay spectrometer and… (More)
We present data on coherent production of the (π + π − π −) system by 600 GeV/c pion beam in the reaction π − + A → A + (π + π − π −) for the C, Cu and Pb targets. The Primakoff formalism was used for extracting the radiative width of the a 2 meson. We obtain a preliminary value Γ(a − 2 → π − γ) = 225 ± 25(stat) ± 45(syst) keV.
