Histological observation of inoculated potato was performed to understand the infection process of R. solani and potato responses to the pathogen, and it was suggested that the epidermal and perithelial structures of potato were related to disease resistance.

Both morphological and molecular evidence confirmed that two Durotheca-like taxa collected from Guizhou Province, China are new species, Duro theca crateriformis and D Kurotheca guizhouensis, while DuroTheca eurima (≡ Theissenia Eurima) is a new record for China.

Multi-gene phylogenetic analyses based on combined ITS, LSU, SSU, rpb2 and tef1 loci confirmed that two micro fungi gathered from bamboo and palm in Guizhou Province, China are new geographical records for China and show that Oxydothis fortunei is closely related to O. inaequalis.
