The production of Υ (1S), Υ (2S) and Υ (3S) mesons in proton-proton collisions at the centre-of-mass energy of √ s = 7 TeV is studied with the LHCb detector. The analysis is based on a data sample of 25 pb−1 collected at the Large Hadron Collider. The Υ mesons are reconstructed in the decay mode Υ → μ+μ− and the signal yields are extracted from a fit to the(More)
Benzamide 1 demonstrated good potency as a selective ITK inhibitor, however the amide moiety was found to be hydrolytically labile in vivo, resulting in low oral exposure and the generation of mutagenic aromatic amine metabolites. Replacing the benzamide with a benzylamine linker not only addressed the toxicity issue, but also improved the cellular and(More)
The differential cross-section for the inclusive production of ψ(2S) mesons in pp collisions at √ s = 7 TeV has been measured with the LHCb detector. The data sample corresponds to an integrated luminosity of 36 pb−1. The ψ(2S) mesons are reconstructed in the decay channels ψ(2S) → μ+μ− and ψ(2S) → J/ψπ+π−, with the J/ψ meson decaying into two muons.(More)

An SAR study that identified a series of thienopyridine-based potent IkappaB Kinase beta (IKKbeta) inhibitors is described. With focuses on the structural optimization at C4 and C6 of structure 1 (Fig. 1), the study reveals that small alkyl and certain aromatic groups are preferred at C4, whereas polar groups with proper orientation at C6 efficiently(More)

Purpose: The present study was designed to determine whether the nuclear or cytoplasmic expression of survivin, was related to clinicopathological parameters and survival in sporadic colon carcinomas. Methods: Western blotting of cell fractions and immunocytochemical methodology were used in five human colon cancer cell lines. Immunohistochemical study was(More)
Vascular adhesion protein-1 (VAP-1), also known as semicarbazide-sensitive amine oxidase (SSAO) or copper-containing amine oxidase (AOC3, EC 1.4.3.6), catalyzes oxidative deamination of primary amines. One endogenous substrate has recently been described (Siglec 10), and although its mechanism of action in vivo is not completely understood, it is suggested(More)
