Systematic data collection from stranded sea turtles can provide useful biological information, such as seasonal and spatial patterns in their occurrence and mortality, age structure, sex ratio and diet, as well as possible mortality causes.
Micro-environmental factors and the endemism of bromeliad aquatic fauna
It is suggested that the changes in water chemistry induced by the bromeliads could play an important role in isolating their microcosm communities from other freshwater systems.
Phoretic Behaviour of Bromeliad Annelids (Dero) and Ostracods (Elpidium) using Frogs and Lizards as Dispersal Vectors
It is suggested that the chemically oriented behaviour presented by bromeliad annelids toward frogs could diminish the risk of death by dehydration during the transport among bromliads due to the moist characteristic of frog skins.

It is demonstrated that Scinax tadpoles frequently ingest bromeliad ostracods, eliminating them unharmed in the faeces, and the consequences of this ability in ostracod ecology and evolution is discussed.

Phytoplankton functional groups in a tropical reservoir in the Brazilian semiarid region
Phytoplankton functional groups structure and species abundance vary according to environmental conditions. The present study investigated the natural and anthropogenic stressors that affect…
An ethnozoological survey of medicinal animals commercialized in the markets of Campina Grande , NE Brazil
The results reveal the importance of zootherapy as a therapeutic alternative and demonstrate the need to consider zootherapy in the context of biodiversity conservation in Brazil.
Geographical Ecology of Tropidurus hispidus (Squamata: Tropiduridae) and Cnemidophorus ocellifer (Squamata: Teiidae) in a Neotropical Region: A Comparison among Atlantic Forest, Caatinga, and Coastal…

Microhabitat use, temperature, diet, and reproductive cycle varied among populations of each species, whereas body temperature and clutch size remained unaltered, showing the importance of both ecological and historical factors along their geographic range.

The results demonstrate the importance of whole-night sampling studies; not only as an opportunity to assess different ecological and behavioural data but also to efficiently register the abundance and richness of the assembly.
