The first karyotype study in palpigrades, a primitive order of arachnids (Arachnida: Palpigradi)
Chromosomes of palpigrades (Arachnida: Palpigradi), a rare arachnid order with numerous primitive characters, were studied for the first time. We analysed two species of the genus Eukoenenia, namely…

Food sources of selected terrestrial cave arthropods
Findings confirm an adaptability and phenoplasticity and, hence, a variability of characteristics developing under the pressure of extreme environmental factors, in cave animal communities in Slovakian and Romanian caves.

Assessment of the antioxidant potential of selected plant extracts--in vitro and in vivo experiments on pork.
Four new troglobiotic species of the genus Megalothorax Willem, 1900 (Collembola: Neelipleona) from the Carpathian Mountains (Slovakia, Romania).
Four new species of Megalothorax Willem, 1900 are described and illustrated involving such features as larger body, elongated foot complex, antennae, mucro and body chaetae and the most pronounced troglomorphy is observed in M. hipmani sp.
Distributional patterns of cave Collembola (Hexapoda) in association with habitat conditions, geography and subterranean refugia in the Western Carpathians
During 2010–2012 the diversity and distribution patterns of Collembola were surveyed in 28 karst and pseudokarst caves of the Western Carpathians, Slovakia. In total 90 species were recorded, 18 of…
Genus Neelus Folsom, 1896 (Hexapoda, Collembola) reveals its diversity in cave habitats: two new species from Croatia.
Two new species of the genus Neelus Folsom, 1896, N. cvitanovici sp. nov. and N. lackovici sp. nov., are described from caves of Croatia. N. lackovici sp. nov. exhibit marked troglomorphic features…
