- Biology, EngineeringThe ISME Journal
- 15 December 2011
The genetic potential for community function showed enrichment of genes involved in phosphate metabolism and biofilm formation, reflecting the selective pressure of the EBPR process, and the need for more reference genomes of key EBPR species is highlighted.
Reproductive ecology of the endemic Lecocarpus pinnatifidus (Asteraceae) in an isolated population in the Galápagos Islands
- M. Philipp, L. Hansen, H. Adsersen, H. Siegismund
- Environmental Science
- 1 October 2004
This study suggests fruit set is pollen limited and self-compatibility and seed set after selfing are the most common reproductive strategy in the Galapagos Islands and L. pinnatifidus seemingly fits well into this group.
Distinct gene expression profile of Xanthomonas retroflexus engaged in synergistic multispecies biofilm formation
- L. Hansen, Dawei Ren, M. Burmølle, S. Sørensen
- BiologyThe ISME Journal
- 9 August 2016
A comparative gene expression analysis of the Xanthomonas retroflexus transcriptome when grown in a single-species biofilm and in dual- and four-species consortia revealed complex interdependent interaction patterns in the multispecies biofilms.
Genomic and exoproteomic analyses of cold‐ and alkaline‐adapted bacteria reveal an abundance of secreted subtilisin‐like proteases
- Jeanette E. Lylloff, L. Hansen, M. A. Glaring
- BiologyMicrobial Biotechnology
- 1 February 2016
Bacteria from two cold and alkaline environments, the ikaite columns in Greenland and alkali ponds in the McMurdo Dry Valley region, Antarctica, were screened for extracellular protease activity, finding six subtilisin‐like proteases as abundant components of the exoproteome in addition to other peptidases potentially involved in complete degradation ofextracellular protein.
