Detecting hybridization in wild (Coturnix c. coturnix) and domesticated (Coturnix c. japonica) quail populations
Redescription and review of the most abundant conehead in Italy: Acerentomon italicum Nosek, 1969 (Protura: Acerentomidae)
Acerentomon italicum is redescribed according to the most recent revision of diagnostic characters (morphometry, porotaxy), examining the type material and 59 specimens from 11 different localities in the authors' collection.

The reproductive fitness of the species is low and the ripening process often fails, so the female organ often shows developmental arrest and the complex or transient evolutionary traits displayed by D. gnidium are comparable to those of Thymelaea hirsuta and other members of theThymelaeaceae.
Protura of Italy, with a key to species and their distribution
The comparison with the species richness known for some best studied Central and Eastern European Countries leads us to speculate that widening the authors' research, Italian Protura check-list will be much implemented.
Ecology of Italian Protura
Reproductive cycle of Pacifastacus leniusculus (Dana) (Crustacea: Decapoda) from the Brugneto Lake (Liguria, northwest Italy)
The analyses of the morphological characters of the male chelae, performed in the present work, suggest the presence of a more robust (and possibly dominant) male morphotype of P. leniusculus.
Redescription of Geogarypus minor, type species of the genus Geogarypus, and description of a new species from Italy (Pseudoscorpiones: Geogarypidae)
The type species of the pseudoscorpion genus Geogarypus Chamberlin, 1930, is redescribed from the newly designated female lectotype and numerous specimens from southern France, Corsica and Italy, and a new species is described.
Is the QBS-ar index a good tool to detect the soil quality in Mediterranean areas? A cork tree Quercus suber L. (Fagaceae) wood as a case of study
The QBS-ar index could be considered to be a valid candidate for the biomonitoring of soil biodiversity in natural and anthropic soils, but in Mediterranean climates comparisons of different areas must be performed analyzing samples collected during the same period.
Flourishing in subterranean ecosystems: Euro-Mediterranean Plusiocampinae and tachycampoids (Diplura, Campodeidae)
The present monograph provides a taxonomic revision of the subfamily Plusiocampinae and the genera belonging to the tachycampoid lineage from Europe and the Mediterranean region together with data on the habitats and distributions of 87 species, 10 subspecies and 11 affinis forms.
The signal crayfish, Pacifastacus leniusculus (Dana, 1852) (Crustacea: Decapoda: Astacidae), in the Brugneto Lake (Liguria, NW Italy). The beginning of the invasion of the River Po watershed?
The results of trapping carried out between November 2005 and October 2006, the population structure and the diseases of P. leniusculus inhabiting Brugneto Lake are analysed and the total sex ratio observed was 1:1, whereas the sex ratio recorded during winter differed significantly from the theoretical value.
