Five amoeboid organisms of different origin that shared light microscopical and ultrastructural features including type and arrangement of mitochondrial cristae were subjected to phylogenetic analyses based on sequences of SSU rDNA and protein coding genes.
Effect of genetic line, protein source, and protein level on growth, survival, and immune‐related gene expression of Litopenaeus vannamei
Novel culture medium for the axenic growth of Balamuthia mandrillaris.
Potentially pathogenic genera of free-living amoebae coexisting in a thermal spring.
Neovahlkampfia nana n. sp. Reinforcing an Underrepresented Subclade of Tetramitia, Heterolobosea
The study provides robust genetic evidence that a newly isolated naked ameba with morphological and ultrastructural features indicative of Heterolobosea is a new species and points to the potentially dubious validity of some current nominal species of Hetteroloboseda that differ from one another in just one or two base positions.
Acanthamoeba mauritaniensis genotype T4D: An environmental isolate displays pathogenic behavior.
Detection of serum antibodies in children and adolescents against Balamuthia mandrillaris, Naegleria fowleri and Acanthamoeba T4.
Stenamoeba dejonckheerei sp. nov., a Free-Living Amoeba Isolated from a Thermal Spring
It is proposed that the Mexican isolates obtained from water samples taken from a thermal spring, "Agua Caliente", in Northwestern Mexico represent a new species of Stenamoeba.
