S-nitrosylation of histone deacetylase 2 induces chromatin remodelling in neurons
It is shown that BDNF triggers NO synthesis and S-nitrosylation of histone deacetylase 2 (HDAC2) in neurons, resulting in changes to histone modifications and gene activation, which promote chromatin remodelling and the activation of genes that are associated with neuronal development.
Predicting the mutations generated by repair of Cas9-induced double-strand breaks
This work systematically study the influence of flanking DNA sequence on repair outcome by measuring the edits generated by >40,000 guide RNAs (gRNAs) in synthetic constructs and uncover sequence determinants of the mutations produced and use these to derive a predictor of Cas9 editing outcomes.
Metabotropic Glutamate 1 Receptor: Current Concepts and Perspectives
Recent advancements in the pharmacology and concepts about the intracellular transduction and pathophysiological role of mGlu1 receptors are discussed and earlier data is reviewed in view of these novel findings.
Binding of TFIIIC to SINE Elements Controls the Relocation of Activity-Dependent Neuronal Genes to Transcription Factories
A novel and essential regulatory function of both SINEs and TFIIIC in mediating gene relocation and transcription is revealed, and it is suggested thatTFIIIC may regulate the rearrangement of nuclear architecture, allowing the coordinated expression of activity-dependent neuronal genes.
Altered Dimerization of Metabotropic Glutamate Receptor 3 in Schizophrenia
Altered levels of glutamatergic receptors and Na+/K+ ATPase-α1 in the prefrontal cortex of subjects with schizophrenia

Findings identify novel biological actions exerted by fMLP and IFN‐γ, potentially involved in the orchestration of inflammatory and immune responses within epithelial and mucosal tissue.
Interleukin-10 and cAMP-elevating agents cooperate to induce suppressor of cytokine signaling-3 via a protein kinase A-independent signal.
We have recently shown that IL-10 represents an efficient stimulus for suppressor of cytokine signalling (SOCS)-3 mRNA expression in human neutrophils and PBMC. Herein, we identify cAMP-elevating…

The results suggest that alternative 5′-splicing and usage of multiple promoters may contribute regulatory mechanisms for tissue- and context-specific expression of the mGluR5 gene.
