Inhibition of angiotensin convertin enzyme (ACE) activity by the anthocyanins delphinidin- and cyanidin-3-O-sambubiosides from Hibiscus sabdariffa.
Antimalarial 4-phenylcoumarins from the stem bark of Hintonia latiflora.
The EtOAc extract of the stem bark of Hintonia latiflora showed the suppression of total parasitemia and the chemosuppression of schizont numbers, when tested in vivo against Plasmodium berghei infection in mice, leading to the isolation of the new compound 5-O-beta-D-glucopyranosyl-7,4'-dimethoxy-3'-hydroxy-4-phenylcoumarin.
Cytotoxic isoflavans from Eysenhardtia polystachya.
The isoflavans 1, 2, and isoduartin (2', 7-dihydroxy-3',4',8-trimethoxyisoflavan) displayed moderate cytotoxic activity against KB cell lines. the structures of 1 and 2 were elucidated on the basis of spectroscopic methods.

The main aim of this study was to isolate and characterize the active compounds from the hexane extract of the fruit peels of Citrus aurantiifolia, which showed activity against one sensitive and three monoresistant strains of Mycobacterium tuberculosis H37Rv.

Using bioactivity-directed isolation procedures, five new spirostan saponins and two sterol glycosides have been isolated from Solanum chrysotrichum leaves and showed antimycotic activity.
Polysomnographic evaluation of the hypnotic effect of Valeriana edulis standardized extract in patients suffering from insomnia.
Validated clinical tests showed that both species reduced the number of awaking episodes while both treatments increased the rapid eye movement (REM) sleep; this last parameter was better improved by V. officinalis extract.
Antispasmodic and antimicrobial diterpenic acids from Viguiera hypargyrea roots.
Two spasmolytic diterpene acids have been isolated from the roots of Viguiera hypargyrea by bioassay-guided fractionation and beyerenoic acid was also active against Staphylococcus aureus, Enterococcus feacalis and Candida albicans.
Bioactive oleanolic acid saponins and other constituents from the roots of Viguiera decurrens.
Myo-inositol-derived glycolipids with anti-inflammatory activity from Solanum lanceolatum.

All the compounds showed in vivo anti-inflammatory activity against ear edema in mice produced by 12-O-tetradecanoylphorbol-13-acetate (TPA), and in vitro enzyme inhibition studies showed that the mixture of lanceolitols A1-A7 inhibited by 58.56% phospholipase A2 from bee venom.
Norsecofriedelanes as spasmolytics, advances of structure-activity relationships.
The results indicate the existence of a clear structure-activity relationship and suggest the involvement of the double bond in the E ring as well as the hydroxy groups at C-4, C-6 and C-7 in biological activity and emphasize the relevance of a free OH group at C -6 andC-4.
