The main objective of this article is to describe a calibration-based method for measuring the target backscattering matrix taking into consideration the cross-polarization error (distorsion) introduced by orthogonally polarized antennas used for transmission and recept ion.
This paper describes how an optimal target discrimination in a noisy environment can be obtained by an array antenna of angular beam steering and polarization agility. Results are proposed for a linear array of N elements spaced by a distance λ/2.
