The results indicated that allopurinol-SCAR is strongly associated with a genetic predisposition in Han Chinese, and in particular, HLA-B*5801 allele is an important genetic risk factor for this life-threatening condition. Expand
Cosmetic applications of selected traditional Chinese herbal medicines.
Among active anti-tyrosinase extracts, Sophora japonica and Spatholobus suberectus were especially potent in HEMn cells in terms of free radical scavenging effects and high phenolic contents, making them the strongest candidates for cosmetic application found in the current study. Expand
Risk of herpes zoster among patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease: a population-based study
Patients with COPD were at increased risk of herpes zoster relative to the general population and the relative risk of Herpes zoster was greatest for patients with COPd using oral steroids. Expand
Increased risk of acute myocardial infarction in patients with psoriasis: a 5-year population-based study in Taiwan.
Psoriasis may confer an independent risk of acute myocardial infarction developing after the diagnosis of psoriasis in Asian populations during a 5-year follow-up period, using a nationwide Taiwanese population-based claims database. Expand
The effect of laser treatment on skin to enhance and control transdermal delivery of 5-fluorouracil.
Histological changes induced by both the erbium:YAG and CO2 lasers had completely recovered within 4 days and both SC ablation and a thermal effect may contribute to the effect of the CO2 laser on skin structure. Expand
Keloid incidence in Asian people and its comorbidity with other fibrosis-related diseases: a nationwide population-based study
It is concluded that keloid incidence in Taiwan is approximately 0.15 %. Expand
Atypical Angioma Serpiginosum
A rare case with a late onset and atypical distribution of lesions in a 48-year-old female patient who had groups of punctate lesions on her left foot for four to five years and was treated with a pulsed dye laser, and the angiomatous lesions subsequently improved. Expand
Psoriasis is associated with an increased risk of parkinsonism: a population-based 5-year follow-up study.
Patients with psoriasis were found to be at a significant risk of parkinsonism during a 5-year follow-up using a population-based data set in Taiwan. Expand
Hesperidin-3′-O-Methylether Is More Potent than Hesperidin in Phosphodiesterase Inhibition and Suppression of Ovalbumin-Induced Airway Hyperresponsiveness
Hesperidin-3′-O-methylether is more potent in phosphodiesterase inhibition and suppression of AHR and has higher therapeutic ( PDE4H/PDE4L) ratio than hesperidIn, which may have more potential for use in treating allergic asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. Expand
Sunitinib‐induced scrotal cutaneous side‐effect
Analysis of patch test reaction rates allows us to propose a beneficial, broad, clinically relevant and up-to-date set of allergens for baseline patch testing in the Thai population and concludes that the ISS, with the addition of gold, cobalt, parabens and carba mix, is suitable for detection of ACD in Thailand.
