A taxonomy of wireless visual sensor networks for surveillance offers design goals that try to balance energy efficiency and application performance requirements. SWEETcam, a wireless smart camera network platform, tries to address the challenges raised by achieving adequate energy-performance tradeoffs.
This paper discusses details and implementation techniques for an ongoing project called MNET. First, an example socket application is presented and the difficulties of the sockets API is addressed. Then we go into detail as to how MNET is built and how it is added as a linux kernel module with ease. Finally we show other projects that are related to what… (More)
Wireless visual sensor networks find a wide range of applications such as environment and habitat monitoring, object tracking, surveillance, etc. Unlike sensor networks targeting telemetry applications, which typically use "scalar" sensors, visual sensor networks produce richer, multi-media information and therefore raise additional challenges related to… (More)
