Worldwide evidence of a unimodal relationship between productivity and plant species richness
TLDR
A large, standardized, and geographically diverse sample of grasslands from six continents is used to confirm the validity and generality of the humped-back model of plant species diversity and pave the way for a more mechanistic understanding of the factors controlling species diversity. Expand
Hybridization and reproductive isolation between diploid Erythronium mesochoreum and its tetraploid congener E. albidum (Liliaceae)
TLDR
It is demonstrated that E. albidum and E. mesochoreum are reproductively isolated by multiple, hierarchically‐operating barriers, and this work adds to the currently limited number of studies demonstrating that early acting barriers such as pollinator‐mediated isolation can be important for effecting and sustaining reproductive isolation in diploid‐polyploid systems. ASSESSING PATTERNS OF HYBRIDIZATION AND MULTIPLE MECHANISMS OF REPRODUCTIVE ISOLATION BETWEEN ERYTHRONIUM ALBIDUM AND ITS CONGENER E. MESOCHOREUM
TLDR
Using sister SPECIES in the GENUS ERYTHRONIUM (LILIACEAE) to study SPECIATION and HYBRIDIZation and its applications in physiology and hybridization is suggested. Expand
