Comparative analyses of chloroplast genomes from 22 Lythraceae species: inferences for phylogenetic relationships and genome evolution within Myrtales
- Cuihua Gu, Li Ma, Zhiqiang Wu, Kai Chen, Yixiang Wang
- BiologyBMC Plant Biology
- 26 June 2019
Generally, the 22 Lythraceae species gathered into one clade, which was resolved as sister to the three Onag raceae species, and was effectively distinguished by maximum likelihood, maximum parsimony, and Bayesian inference trees constructed using 66 protein coding genes.
Comparative analyses of chloroplast genomes from 13 Lagerstroemia (Lythraceae) species: identification of highly divergent regions and inference of phylogenetic relationships
- Gang Zheng, Lingling Wei, Li Ma, Zhiqiang Wu, Cuihua Gu, Kai Chen
- BiologyPlant Molecular Biology
- 29 January 2020
The results provide comprehensive chloroplast genomic resources, which can be used further for species identification and molecular breeding of Lagerstroemia species, and illustrated several novel relationships within Myrtales.
Revision of the Australian species of Agrotera Schrank (Lepidoptera: Pyraloidea: Crambidae: Spilomelinae).
- Kai Chen, M. Horak, Xicui Du, Dandan Zhang
- BiologyZootaxa
- 5 December 2017
The genus Agrotera Schrank, 1802 is revised for Australia and the generic definition is refined based on the male genitalia, and a key to all species, based on males, is provided.
A revision of the genus Ecpyrrhorrhoe Hübner, 1825 from China based on morphology and molecular data, with descriptions of five new species (Lepidoptera, Crambidae, Pyraustinae)
- Lanbin Xiang, Kai Chen, Xiao Chen, Yongjiang Duan, Dandan Zhang
- BiologyZooKeys
- 23 March 2022
The tree topology and morphological characters suggest that Paliga Moore, 1886 is a new synonym of Ecpyrrhorrhoe, and Yezobotys Munroe & Mutuura, 1969 is restored as a valid genus.

Revision of the genus Eumorphobotys with descriptions of two new species (Lepidoptera, Crambidae, Pyraustinae).
- Kai Chen, Dandan Zhang, M. Stanescu
- BiologyZootaxa
- 11 September 2018
The genus Eumorphobotys Munroe Mutuura (1969) comprises two species that have been found in southern China and several species representing the potential related genera based on sequence data of COI, 16S rRNA, EF-1α and 28S r RNA gene regions were reconstructed and the taxonomy of these generabased on morphological characters was re-assessed.
Revision of the genus Epiparbattia Caradja, 1925 (Lepidoptera, Crambidae, Pyraustinae), based on morphology and molecular data
- Dandan Zhang, Kai Chen, Lanbin Xiang
- BiologyZooKeys
- 17 August 2020
Monophyly of the genus is well supported by phylogenetic analysis based on sequence data of COI, 16S rRNA, EF-1α and 28S r RNA gene regions, and the phylogeny of Epiparbattia species is investigated using molecular data.

Revision of the genus Emphylica Turner, 1913 based on morphology and molecular data (Lepidoptera, Crambidae, Pyraustinae)
- Kai Chen, Q. Liu, Jianhua Jin, Dandan Zhang
- BiologyZooKeys
- 8 April 2019
A molecular phylogenetic framework is reconstructed based on sequence data of COI, 16S rRNA, 28S r RNA, EF-1α and Wg gene regions and the results robustly support the monophyly of Emphylica.
