Prolonged inhibition of vascular contraction and calcium influx by the novel 1,4-dihydropyridine calcium antagonist cinaldipine (FRC-8653).

It is suggested that prolonged inhibition of calcium influx through L-channels contributes to the long-lasting vasodilative and antihypertensive activity of FRC-8653.
Stress-induced elevation of ouabainlike compound in rat plasma and adrenal.

It is suggested that ouabainlike compound may function as a stress hormone in males subjected to acute stress by swimming in water and remain unaltered after the end of swim stress.
Putative roles of ouabainlike compound in hypertension: revisited.
The blockade of OLC action may become the basis of novel rational antihypertensive agents and may help to solve the problems still present in the management of hypertensive patients.
Ouabainlike compound in hypertension associated with ectopic corticotropin syndrome.
Findings suggest that ouabainlike compound with biological activity could partly account for hypertension in ectopic corticotropin syndrome.
Digoxin-like immunoreactivity: is it still worth measuring?

Effects of intracerebroventricular administration of 6‐hydroxydopamine on ouabain‐like immunoreactivity in plasma and the hypothalamo‐pituitary axis in rats

The results suggest that the production and release of ouabain-like factor are closely associated with the brain, particularly the hypothalamus-pituitary axis, and that noradrenergic or dopaminergic neurons, or both, play a key role in this mechanism.
Role of ouabainlike compound in rats with reduced renal mass-saline hypertension.

Findings suggest that plasma OLC shows a similar behavior to that of EDLFs or Na(+)-K(+-adenosinetriphosphatase inhibitors reported in previous publications and may play a role in hypertensive mechanisms in rats with RRM and excess Na intake.
