Results show that activation of CB1 cannabinoid receptors induces sympathoinhibition and enhancement of cardiac vagal tone, leading to hypotension and bradycardia, and the cannabinoid-evoked cardiovascular depression depends strongly on the respiratory state of the animals.

The results show that activation of CB1 cannabinoid receptors not only induces cardiovascular depression, but also markedly impairs ventilation, and the respiratory depression evoked by cannabinoids largely amplifies the cardiovascular depression.

The data suggest that no dose adjustment of aclidinium is required when treating elderly patients with COPD, and shows similar linear and time-independent pharmacokinetics in younger and elderly patients at each dose level and day of treatment.
