It is suggested that sugar moieties in the MV hemagglutinin critically modulate virus–receptor interaction as well as antiviral antibody responses, differently from sugars of the HIV gp120, which allow for immune evasion.
Structural basis of the 3′‐end recognition of a leading strand in stalled replication forks by PriA
The crystal structures in complexes with oligonucleotides and the combination of fluorescence correlation spectroscopy and mutagenesis reveal that the N‐terminal domain of PriA possesses a binding pocket for the 3′‐ terminal nucleotide residue of DNA, prerequisite for the proper positioning of the helicase domain ofPriA on the unreplicated double‐stranded DNA.

It is shown here that PriA binds to DNA in a manner either dependent on or independent of 3′ terminus recognition, and ATP hydrolysis activity of PriA can be stimulated in vitro by either of the two binding modes.
