Exposure to dimethylarsinic acid, a main metabolite of inorganic arsenics, strongly promotes tumorigenesis initiated by 4-nitroquinoline 1-oxide in the lungs of mice.

Nivalenol, a toxic product isolated from the rice grains infected with Fusarium nivale, was shown to inhibit the multiplication of HeLa cells completely at a concentration of 0.5ƒÊg/ml or higher, and the similarity of the action to that of well-known inhibitors for protein synthesis was discussed.
