Potato virus Y (PVY) in Seed Potato Certification
Investigation of PVY-infected potato leaf samples from Bavarian potato seed certification found that the ”classical“ O and the N strains, predominantly responsible for severe virus diseases, represented less than 1% of the infections present, and there was no correlation detected between virus concentration and symptom severity.
First evidence for interspecific hybridization between invasive goby species Neogobius fluviatilis and Neogobius melanostomus (Teleostei: Gobiidae: Benthophilinae).
Two hybrids between the monkey goby Neogobius fluviatilis and the round gobys from the Rhine River were identified by genotyping and morphological comparison, the first records of goby-hybrids outside the parent species' native ranges worldwide.
Molecular characterization of a new tobacco rattle virus (TRV) RNA2 and identification of different TRV RNA1/RNA2 pairings in various potato-growing areas in Germany
The almost complete nucleotide sequences lacking only the short primer-derived 5’ and 3’ ends were determined for two closely related isolates of a new tobacco rattle virus (TRV) RNA2, i.e., ByKT
Impact of Stolbur Phytoplasmas on Potato Tuber Texture and Sugar Content of Selected Potato Cultivars
Across all cultivars examined, phytoplasmal concentration was significantly higher in symptomatic tubers than in non-symptomatic ones, and fully resistant cultivars were not observed.
