Transparent Content Negotiation in HTTP
This memo defines an Experimental Protocol for the Internet community, an extensible negotiation mechanism, layered on top of HTTP, for automatically selecting the best version when the URL is accessed.
File and Object Replication in Data Grids
- H. Stockinger, A. Samar, K. Holtman, W. Allcock, Ian T Foster, B. Tierney
- Computer ScienceProceedings 10th IEEE International Symposium on…
- 7 August 2001
A new, enhanced GDMP architecture and prototype implementation that uses Globus Data Grid tools for efficient file replication is presented and how this architecture can address object replication issues in an object-oriented database management system is explained.
Media Feature Tag Registration Procedure
This document defines a registration procedure which uses the Internet Assigned Numbers Authority (IANA) as a central registry for the content feature vocabulary.
HEPGRID2001: A Model of a Virtual Data Grid Application
- K. Holtman
- Computer Science, PhysicsHPCN Europe
- 25 June 2001
The main utility of the HEPGRID2001 model is that it encodes high energy physics (HEP) application domain knowledge and makes it available in a form that is understandable for the CS community, so that architectural and performance requirements for data grid middleware components can be derived.

Towards AGI Agent Safety by Iteratively Improving the Utility Function
- K. Holtman
- Computer ScienceAGI
- 10 July 2020
An AGI safety layer is presented that creates a special dedicated input terminal to support the iterative improvement of an AGI agent’s utility function.
HTTP Remote Variant Selection Algorithm - RVSA/1.0
This document defines the remote variant selection algorithm with the version number 1.0 of HTTP, which allows web site authors to put multiple versions of the same information under a single URL.
Real-time routing and retry strategies for low-latency 802.15.4 control networks
It is found that retrying message delivery via a single delivery route is sub-optimal, and the use of time slotting and energy saving strategies is not necessarily incompatible with the goal of optimizing for human-observable latency.
Automatic reclustering of objects in very large databases for high energy physics
- K. Holtman, P. V. D. Stok, I. Willers
- Computer Science, PhysicsProceedings. IDEAS'98. International Database…
- 8 July 1998
This work presents the implementation and performance measurements of a prototype reclustering mechanism which was developed to optimise I/O performance under the changing access patterns in a high energy physics database.
