Comprehensive outpatient care in rheumatoid arthritis. A controlled study.
Patients with classical or definite rheumatoid arthritis by American Rheumatism Association (ARA) criteria, were randomly assigned to treatment and control groups in a study of effectiveness of multidisciplinary clinic and home care.
IMMUNOLOGIC RELATION OF STREPTOCOCCAL AND TISSUE ANTIGENS. III. PRESENCE IN HUMAN SERA OF STREPTOCOCCAL ANTIBODY CROSS-REACTIVE WITH HEART TISSUE. ASSOCIATION WITH STREPTOCOCCAL INFECTION, RHEUMATIC…
Sera from patients with recent streptococcal infection or non-suppurative sequelae exhibit with variable frequency a precipitin reaction in agar gel with a partially purified strePTococcal antigen, providing evidence that induction of cross-reactive autoantibody to heart in certain individuals is associated with streptitiscal infection.
A variant L.E. cell factor reactive only with "altered" nuclear material.
The serum was non-reactive with nuclei of intact cells and with thymus nucleoprotein but demonstrated reactivity with leukocyte nuclei altered by mechanical trauma but it is suggested that this antinuclear factor is related to the L.E. E. cell activity of the serum.
Age-related antinuclear factors: immunologic characteristics and associated clinical aspects.
Immunopathologic studies of systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE). I. Tissue-bound immunoglobulins in relation to serum antinuclear immunoglobulins in systemic lupus and in chronic liver disease with LE…
Neither bound immunoglobulins nor complement was observed in liver parenchyma of the two patients with chronic liver disease or inTwo patients with systemic lupus and liver pathology, so it seems doubtful that serum antibodies play a primary role in the pathogenesis of forms of Chronic liver disease associated with positive LE cell tests.
THE OCCURENCE OF RHEUMATOID FACTOR IN ASSOCIATION WITH ANTIBODY RESPONSE TO INFLUENZA A2(ASIAN) VIRUS.
Analysis of sera from persons exposed to the 1957 Asian influenza epidemic demonstrated the appearance of rheumatoid factor in 14.8 per cent of 27 post-epidemic sera showing viral antibody response…

Results suggest that patients with higher intelligence scores more often maintain functional performance and improve in social adjustment than do patients with low intelligence scores, and psycho-social factors, although they do not alter rheumatoid disease activity, can affect functional results of rehabilitation measures.

Antibody to Nuclear Material Eluted from Isolated Spleen Vessels in Systemic Lupus Erythematosus
Splenic blood vessels were isolated from surrounding cells by treatment with trypsin and the use of ultrasound. This procedure retained vascular-bound immunoglobulins which were recovered by acid…
