Current results suggest that Wolbachia has not acted as a major barrier to gene flow between western and eastern–Midwestern populations, although some genetic differentiation between A‐Wolbachia infected and B‐Worcestershire infected individuals in eastern– midwestern populations cannot be ruled out.

The author was unable to find many instances of lice infesting birds which were not considered the normal hosts, and the only exception encountered was the presence of Cuclotogaster heterographus (Nitzsch), normally found on domestic chickens, on hatchery-reared Ring-necked Pheasants from the California Game Farm, Ontario, Canada, and Ithaca, New York.

Six species of Menacanthus are recognized from the Piciformes, 5 of which are described and illustrated, and there are 19 new synonymies, including 1 new species, M. campephili, off Campephilus magellanicus from Argentina.
A New Species of Mallophaga from the Pigeon

From a careful examination of twenty-six domestic pigeons, the author was able to collect nine specimens representing a new species in the Amblyceran genus Bonomiella Conci, which contains two species found on doves and pigeons.
