Alkyltin inhibition of ATPase activities in tissue homogenates and subcellular fractions from adult and neonatal rats.
It is concluded that in vivo brain tin concentrations in 5-day-old rats following a neurotoxic dose of TET are sufficient to inhibit brain mitochondrial ATPase, whereas in adults, tin concentrations are insufficient for inhibition.
Tin distribution in adult rat tissues after exposure to trimethyltin and triethyltin.
Major differences in the disposition and rates of elimination of tin from body tissues after TMT and TET exposure are described, and it is demonstrated that the regional disposition of tin is not related to the region-specific pathology reported following TMT exposure.
Exposure to the metabolic inhibitor sodium azide induces stress protein expression and thermotolerance in the nematode Caenorhabditis elegans
The ability of C elegans to survive exposure to azide is associated with the induction of at least 2 stress proteins, and the only known Hsp mutant daf-21, which constitutively enters the stress-resistant state known as the dauer larvae is tested.
Society of Toxicology Develops Learning Framework for Undergraduate Toxicology Courses Following the Vision and Change Core Concepts Model.
Publishing of a Learning Framework for toxicology will enable integration into other disciplines and facilitate the development and sharing of evidenced-based teaching materials for Toxicology to educators in allied disciplines, which will expand toxicology's impact to a broader audience.
Effects of 3,3’Iminodipropionitrile (IDPN) on Behavior and LDH Activity in Rats
3,3'-Iminodipropionitrile (IDPN) is a synthetic neurotoxicant. The purpose of this study was to observe the effects of IDPN on rat behavior and LDH activity in brain and spinal cord homogenates. One
