Morphological variation among Persian walnut (Juglans regia) genotypes from central Iran
The promising selected genotypes identified in central Iran will be further exploited by walnut breeding programmes for their tree and nut characteristics.
Evaluation of Chlorophyll Content and Chlorophyll Fluorescence Parameters and Relationships between Chlorophyll a, b and Chlorophyll Content Index under Water Stress in Olea europaea cv. Dezful
Results of Analysis of variance showed that irrigation treatments had significant effect on chlorophylla, total chlorophyll (chl a+b), C.C.I and Fv/Fm ratio.
Optimizing Storage and In vitro Germination of Date Palm (Phoenix dactylifera) Pollen
For all the tested cultivars, germination declined as storage temperature increased and, by 200 days, the highest survival rate was obtained with cryostored pollen, suggesting long-term storage of date pollen using an ultra-low temperature (-196uC) can be used without any deteriorating effect on pollen viability, while room temperature storage significantly reduced pollen germination.
Evaluation and identification of walnut (Juglans regia L.) genotypes in Markazi province of Iran
Ghasemi, M., K. Arzani, and D. Hassani. 2012. Evaluation and identification of walnut (Juglans regia L.) genotypes in Markazi province of Iran. Crop Breeding Journal 2(2): 119-124. The Persian walnut…
Changes in anthocyanins in arils of chitosan-coated pomegranate (Punica granatum L. cv. Rabbab-e-Neyriz) fruit during cold storage
Growth, chemical composition, and carbon isotope discrimination of pistachio (Pistacia vera L.) rootstock seedlings in response to salinity
The Ghazvini rootstock was the most salt tolerant among the rootstocks tested and may be a useful indicator of cumulative salinity history of the plant but is not a suitable indicator for pre-screening of pistachio rootstocks for salinity resistance.
Superior Growth Characteristics, Yield, and Fruit Quality in Promising European Pear (Pyrus communis L.) Chance Seedlings in Iran
This research was carried out in order to explore and evaluate some of European pear chance seedling genotypes that are primarily used as rootstock for the Asian pear in Tarbiat Modares University (TMU) Asian Pear Collection Orchard.
Evaluation of the Most Important Fruit Characteristics of Some Commercial Pomegranate (Punica granatum L.) Cultivars Grown in Iran
Abstract Iran is one of the most important pomegranate producers and exporters in the world. In spite of various pomegranate cultivars grown in different regions of the country, few published data on…
Pollen Morphology of Five Iranian Olive (Olea europaea L.) Cultivars
Scanning electron analysis of pollen grain revealed that specific differences including variation in size and form of the meshes are exist among cultivars, and the differences in the exine pattern may help for the identification of some cultivars.
