It is concluded that Agaricus blazei Murill components which activate macrophages result in the induction of cytokine- and NO secretion in vitro.
Fasudil, a Rho-kinase inhibitor, attenuates glomerulosclerosis in Dahl salt-sensitive rats
It is suggested that the Rho–Rho-kinase pathway may be partly responsible for the pathogenesis of hypertensive glomerulosclerosis independently of blood pressure in DS, and that chronic inhibition of the R Ho–R Ho-kinases pathway might be a new strategy for treating hypertensive nephrosclerosis.
Activation of macrophages by lactoferrin: secretion of TNF-alpha, IL-8 and NO.

- MedicineBiochemistry and molecular biology international
It is concluded that lactoferrin activates macrophages which result in the secretion of TNF-alpha, IL-8 and NO, and lact oferrin had a significant effect on secretion of at concentrations greater than 10 mg/ml.
RETRACTED ARTICLE: Angiotensin-II-induced oxidative stress elicits hypoadiponectinaemia in rats
It is concluded that adiponectin gene expression is negatively modulated by oxidative stress, and suppressed levels may contribute to the proinflammatory and metabolic derangements associated with type 2 diabetes, coronary artery disease and the metabolic syndrome.
Globular Adiponectin Activates Nuclear Factor-κB and Activating Protein-1 and Enhances Angiotensin II–Induced Proliferation in Cardiac Fibroblasts
Rather than having an antihypertrophic effect, gAd might contribute to the activation of myocardium signaling, leading to myocardial hypertrophy.
Liraglutide, a GLP-1 receptor agonist, inhibits vascular smooth muscle cell proliferation by enhancing AMP-activated protein kinase and cell cycle regulation, and delays atherosclerosis in ApoE…
Glucose upregulates plasminogen activator inhibitor-1 gene expression in vascular smooth muscle cells.
Effects of olmesartan medoxomil as an angiotensin II-receptor blocker in chronic hypoxic rats.
Activation of macrophages by lactoferrin: secretion of TNF‐α, IL‐8 and NO
It is concluded that lactoferrin activates macrophages which result in the secretion of TNF‐α, IL‐8 and NO, and lact oferrin had a significant effect on secretion at concentrations greater than 10 mg/ml.
Induction of NO synthesis by lipoteichoic acid from Staphylococcus aureus in J774 macrophages: involvement of a CD14-dependent pathway.

It is proposed that agents which block CD14-dependent events may be useful therapeutics in gram-positive shock because CD14 is involved in the signal transduction events leading to the enhanced expression of iNOS mRNA and activity elicited by LTA in murine macrophages.
