Nonparametric Linear Regression and Artificial Neural Network models have been developed based on different perspectives and assumptions. In this paper a survey is made to compare the predictive performances of the nonparametric models of closing prices of Stock Index data, where the data is non normal. Comparative studies with the existing statistical(More)
AIMS This study is mainly focused on the heterologous expression and accumulation of polyhydroxyalkanoates (PHA) in Escherichia coli. METHODS AND RESULTS PHA synthase gene (phaC1) from indigenous Pseudomonas sp. LDC-5 was amplified by PCR and cloned in E. coli (Qiagen EZ competent cells). The recombinant E. coli was analysed and confirmed for its(More)
Polyhydroxyalkanoates (PHAs) are biological polyesters, of which, Short-Chain-Length-Medium-Chain-Length (SCL-MCL) PHA copolymers are important because of their wide range of applications. The present study focused on molecular characterization of Pseudomonas sp. LDC-5 that is identified as SCL-MCL producer. Phase contrast, fluorescent and electron(More)
Bacillus thuringiensis strains isolated from Madurai, TamilNadu, India were evaluated for their mosquitocidal activity, as well as cry and cyt genes diversity. It revealed that 99% of the parasporal crystal morphology of these isolates was spherical in nature and a variable percentage (0% 100%) of toxicity was observed against Culex quinquefasciatus and(More)
Polyhydroxyalkanoates (PHAs) are attractive biomaterials in both conventional medical devices and tissue engineering. PHA synthase is responsible for catalyzing the formation of Polyhydroxyalkanoates (PHA), but its structural information is limited. Hence, this study focuses to predict 3D model for phaC1 and phaC2 genes of field-soil strain Pseudomonas sp.(More)
The Cyt toxins are able to lyse a wide range of cell types in vitro, unlike the Cry delta-endotoxins. It exerts its activity by the formation of pores within target cell membranes. The structural information available for Cyt2Aa (PDB id: 1CBY) consists of a single domain in which two outer layers of alpha-helix wrap around a mixed beta-sheet. Beta-barrel(More)
We describe a patient with situational restriction of elevation in adduction in his left eye. Clinical examination pointed to instability of the left medial rectus pulley. This was corrected by Faden on the medial rectus. The importance of this relatively new concept in identifying and treating orbital pulley instability is discussed.
Internally Transcribed Spacers (ITS) characterization and distribution of Repetitive Extragenic Palindromic (REP) sequences were studied in the genome of 223 field isolates of Bacillus thuringiensis from Madurai, India. They were characterized by morphological, biochemical and molecular methods. One hundred and twenty four of a total 223 isolates fitted ITS(More)
