Starting from the social problem of increasing average age, the aims and methods of modern research on ageing are discussed. They are based on experiment and observation of the ageing processes over the whole span of life from birth to death, corresponding to the shifting of the steady state characterising the living. Here, the energy economy of the… (More)
The acetate of the tricyclic ketone I ofKöster andLogemann was transformed through the intermediates III to VI into the acetates A and B of tetracyclic ketones (probably formulæ VIIb and VIIa). By perhydration of A and subsequent oxidation resulted the acetate of a hydroxy ketone which may represent a stereoisomer of androsterone II.
The theory of optimal colours is extended and it is shown that affinic transformation of optimal colour pathes leads to colour series similar to concentration series of Dyestuffs. A relatively simple relationship between such concentration series in solution and dyed on a substrate allows certain predictions over the colour course of the dyes provided the… (More)
After a short discussion of the relations between the different color coordinate systems formulae are derived which allow the transformation of tristimulus values to full color coordinates in a simple way. The tristimulus values are first “centred”, i.e. the whole chromacity diagram is transformed in a manner to bring the illumination point in the centre of… (More)
Development of a spectral colour integrator enabling to reproduce on a screen any colour up to the theoretical limits and to determine quantitatively important notions of colour metric.
