This paper describes the first measurement results with a square-wave based Josephson ac voltage standard. Using a planar multijunction thermal converter as a reference the accuracy was found to be in the μV/V range at 1 V level at 62.5 Hz and 1 kHz. A systematic error of 1.3 μV/V was observed.
A square-wave based AC Josephson apparatus is under development at MIKES. A new high-resolution custom made sine wave source has been developed and is being tested. A simple scheme for calibration of thermal converters (TC) with an AC Josephson system is suggested.
