Inhibition of NF-kappa B activation through targeting I kappa B kinase by celastrol, a quinone methide triterpenoid.
Understanding on the molecular mechanisms underlying the anti-inflammatory and anti-cancer activities of celastrol and celastro-containing medicinal plant is extended, which would be a valuable candidate for the intervention of NF-kappa B-dependent pathological conditions.
Comparison of suppressive effects of demethoxycurcumin and bisdemethoxycurcumin on expressions of inflammatory mediators In Vitro and In Vivo
The results showed that the suppressive effect of demethoxycurcumin was stronger than that of bisdemethoxyCurcumin, indicating that the methoxy group had enhanced demeth oxygencur cumin’s anti-inflammation effects.
(Aryloxyacetylamino)benzoic acid analogues: A new class of hypoxia-inducible factor-1 inhibitors.
Structural modification of a compound discovered during screening using an HRE-dependent reporter assay has revealed a novel class of HIF-1 inhibitors, which potently inhibit the HIF-1alpha protein…

It is demonstrated that MIC-1 induces the transactivation of ErbB2 in SK-BR-3 breast and SNU-216 gastric cancer cells and performs a crucial function inMIC-1-induced signaling pathways, which may participate in the malignant progression of certain human cancer cells that overexpress Erb B2 through the trans activation of ErBB2 tyrosine kinase.
Thymoquinone alleviates thioacetamide-induced hepatic fibrosis and inflammation by activating LKB1-AMPK signaling pathway in mice.

Two new sesquiterpene esters are reported, 1beta,8beta-diacetoxyl-6alpha,9alpha-difuroyloxydihydro-beta-agarofuran and 1beta-acetoxyl -2beta, 6alpha, 9alpha-trifuroyoxydicelastrol, which showed moderate inhibition in both NF-kappaB activation and nitric oxide production.
Macrophage inhibitory cytokine-1 induces the invasiveness of gastric cancer cells by up-regulating the urokinase-type plasminogen activator system.
The results indicate that MIC-1 may contribute to the malignant progression of gastric cancer cells by inducing tumor cell invasion through the up-regulation of the uPA activation system via extracellular signal-regulated kinase-1/2-dependent pathway.
