Constructing narratives involves mobilising the traveller imagination and finding original ways to convey narrative intentions. When a traveller invents a story, there is a natural interaction with the local environment and the use of various means of expression. Our goal is to adopt a user-centred approach to envision new instruments, to support travellers… (More)
This paper sums up the first results of an empirical study on the use of a multimodal device in mobility in the context of a collaborative game. The main features of the data gathering and analysis platform is described, then some results on the use of multimodality are presented.
This paper describes a method and a piece of equipment for capturing data about the use of a mobile multimodal device in natural settings . The equipment includes an instrument worn by the user to capture his or her perspective while moving, a means of capturing a wider view of the context and a multimodal data logger.
This paper presents some methodological issues and some of the first findings that have arisen from our work on the « Multimodal mobile devices » joint project at GRIC-IRIT, CLIPS-IMAG, and FT R&D department. Our main research and design interest is in the development of novel interactive devices for the mobile user that exploit classical (i.e. existing)… (More)
In this note, we focus on a selection model problem: a monoexponential model versus a bi-exponential one. This is done in the biological context of living cells, where small data are available. Classical statistics are revisited to improve existing results. Some unavoidable limits are also pointed out.
In the context of the project MOTIVE, the mailbox MMS developped on Pocket PC has the main goal to permit a study of in situ uses of multimodlity in mobility. The paper describes the technologic platform. The configuration allows studies of interaction langages. Consequently, its development have been confronted to a wide number of technical and… (More)
