In this work, we consider a class of linear dissipative evolution equations. We show that the solution of this class has a polynomial rate of decay as time tends to infinity, but does not have exponential decay. c © 2004 Elsevier Science Ltd. All rights reserved. In this paper we consider the thermoelastic plate equation with localized thermal dissipation of memory type, proposed by Gurtin and Pipkin [3]. We will show that the solution of the corresponding model decays exponentially as time goes to infinity, provided the relaxation function decays exponentially. The mean difference with others thermoelastic system(More)
