Efficacy of Artilysin Art-175 against Resistant and Persistent Acinetobacter baumannii
It is reported that Art-175 is highly bactericidal against stationary-phase cells of multidrug-resistant Acinetobacter baumannii, even resulting in a complete elimination of large inocula, and represents a highly active Artilysin against two of the most life-threatening pathogens of the order Pseudomonadales. Iterative Chemical Engineering of Vancomycin Leads to Novel Vancomycin Analogs With a High in Vitro Therapeutic Index
110 vancomycin analogs modified at the C-terminal carboxyl group of the heptapeptide moiety with R2NHR1NH2 substituents are synthesized and evaluated, finding the best analogs have improved growth inhibitory activity and in vitro therapeutic indices against a broad set of VRE and methicillin-resistant S. aureus isolates.
