This paper presents and compares three topology optimization tools differing from the optimization algorithms they implement. The first two are respectively based on a local optimization algorithm, i.e. a Nelder-Mead method, and a global one, i.e. a genetic algorithm. The third uses a hybrid algorithm associating the local and the global algorithms used in… (More)
Study on the LSIV has several points of value: It enters into the normal mediastinal outline, forming the aortic "nipple". It may be the site of dilatation, either congenitally or secondary to haemodynamics changes. This venous dilatation should not be confused with a mediastinal tumour. It forms, in the majority of cases, an anastomosis between the… (More)
The authors report a case of double aortic arc revealed by respiratory problems of obstructive type in a teenager. The diagnosis suggested by routine radiological check up as confirmed by aortography. After surgical disruption of the vascular ring, the respiratory troubles disappeared.
A case is reported of a young adult with moderate hemoptysis arising from an accessory cardiac bronchus. The authors review the 90 cases reported in the published literature and summarize the clinical manifestations and results of radiological investigations.
