Superoxide dismutase, catalase and sodium formate did not inhibit the formation of malondialdehyde (MDA) from arachidonic acid, suggesting that O 2 ∸ , H2O2 and OH. are not involved in the enzymatical oxidation of arachidonic acid. Sodium azide was found to be an inhibitor of MDA production.
A case of leiomyosarcoma of the spinal leptomeninges is presented, with clinical, radiological, light microscopic and immunohistochemical data. The probable origin of the tumor from a pluripotent mesenchymal cell is discussed.
The pharmacokinetics of the anticoagulant drug, 2-phenyl-1,3-indandione, after i.v. and oral administration in the rat might be best described as a non-linear open two-compartment model with elimination from the peripheral compartment. The volume of the central compartment comprises the extracellular fluid.
The subnuclear distribution of 3H-oestradiol-receptor complexes was studied in uterine tissue of ovariectomized adult rats. Nuclei were sonically disrupted and 8 different subnuclear fractions were isolated by discontinuous sucrose density gradient centrifugation. 3H-Oestradiol-receptor complexes, measured by hydroxylapatite column chromatography, were… (More)
It is postulated that ovarian hyperstimulation prior to embryo transfer results in changes in the endometrium which lead to poor adhesive properties of the endometrium. Based on the properties of fibrin sealant which is used in human operative medicine, it is believed that adhesion of embryos to the endometrium during embryo transfer may be encouraged by… (More)
