This paper presents a study of the permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) running under demagnetization. The simulation has been carried out by means of two dimensional (2-D) finite element analysis (FEA), and simulations results were compared with experimental results. The demagnetization fault is analyzed by means of decomposition of stator currents… (More)
Use of sewage sludge from wastewater treatment plants as a raw material for making clay bricks has been analyzed to be an option to dumping sludges into landfills. This alternative has been shown feasible and interesting due to the high rate of use of ceramic materials in the building sector. However, it meets with some environmental issues and some… (More)
The undesirable phenomenon of the contact bounce causes severe erosion of the contacts and, as a consequence, their electrical life and reliability are greatly reduced. On the other hand, the bounce of the armature can provoke re-opening of the contacts, even when they have already been closed. This paper deals with the elimination of the bounce in both… (More)
Removal of sludges from Wastewater Treatment Plants (WWTP) represents a serious worldwide environmental problem for which alternatives other than their simple incineration are investigated. In this work the treatment of raw sludge from urban WWTP by means of a minimization process through spray-drying is analyzed as well as some proposals for revaluating… (More)
The re-use of sewage sludge without any treatment as primary material-mixed with clays-in order to obtain structural ceramics for buildings has been successfully improved. In the Ecobrick project, the firing of a mixture of specific percentages of three components (clays, sludges and forest debris) resulted in a lighter and more thermal and acoustic… (More)
A direct result of the growing number of municipal wastewater-treatment plants (WWTPs) has been an increase in the generation of large amounts of sewage sludge that requires environmentally acceptable final destination. To decrease the volume of sludge, a common technique is drying the sludge at a low temperature in rotary kilns. The result of this process… (More)
In this paper works with no-lineal tool and computer simulations, phase-plane trajectory analysis and method of Lyapunov for evaluate the limits of the small signal models and suggest to utilize models that can permit the analysis of the system when subjected to a severe transient disturbance.
Induction machines operated by inverter use to present efficiency decrease and sometimes present additional rotor and stator fault. FEM has been used for faulty motor simulation and shows results of motor fault effects. Experimental results corroborate the simulation and theoretical effects.
An innovative proposal of tangento-axial filtration based on the concept of macromembrane (large size) is presented in the context of microand ultrafiltration ceramic membranes. The macromembrane is made of Al2O3–TiO2 by slip casting. It includes an internal system for rotating the fluid trough a propeller which enhances the tangento-axial filtration. This… (More)
Several tests using water as effluent are used to analyse the performance of three types of microfiltration cross-flow ceramic membranes. Two of these membranes are commercial (Atech and Membralox/US Filter) and the third one is experimental. The main differences between them lie in their chemical composition (different origin of raw materials) and in their… (More)
