A new genus Protentelloides and two new species from the upper Oligocene (planktonic foraminiferal Zone P22) from the Sierra Leone Rise, eastern equatorial Atlantic are reported and it is suggested that Protentelliides is one of the phylogenetic branches of Globorotaloides suteri (Bolli).
