Two new xanthones, 1,5,6-trihydroxy-3-methoxy-4-(3-hydroxyl- 3-methylbutyl)xanthone (1) and 1,3,5-triHydroxy-6',6'-dimethyl-2H-pyrano(2',3':6,7)-2-enyl (2), have been isolated from the stems of Garcinia cowa.
