- Xiao Li, Yiping Gao, B. Lin
- Biology, MedicineBioMed Research International
- 11 October 2015
The main aims of this study were to determine the expression of human epididymis protein 4 (HE4) in endometrial cancer and to explore the relationships between HE4 expression, clinicopathological…
Increased interleukin-6 expression is associated with poor prognosis and acquired cisplatin resistance in head and neck squamous cell carcinoma
- Jian Gao, Sen Zhao, T. Halstensen
- BiologyOncology Report
- 20 April 2016
Analyzing tumorous mRNA expression data from 399 HNSCC patients revealed that high IL-6 expression predicted poor prognosis, but it did not mediate cisplatin resistance in the H NSCC cell lines.
Expression and Significance of CD44, CD47 and c-met in Ovarian Clear Cell Carcinoma
- Huimin Wang, Mingzi Tan, B. Lin
- Medicine, BiologyInternational Journal of Molecular Sciences
- 1 February 2015
CD44, CD47 and c-met may have synergistic effects on the development of OCCC and are prognostic factors for ovarian cancer.
Peritoneal Milky Spots Serve as a Hypoxic Niche and Favor Gastric Cancer Stem/Progenitor Cell Peritoneal Dissemination Through Hypoxia-Inducible Factor 1α
- Z. Miao, Zhen-ning Wang, Hui-mian Xu
- Biology, MedicineStem Cells
- 26 November 2014
It is demonstrated that PMSs served as a hypoxic niche and favored GCSPCs peritoneal dissemination through HIF‐1α both in vitro and in vivo.

Targeting lactate metabolism via MCT4 therefore provides a promising therapeutic approach for invasive urothelial carcinoma, especially in the basal subtype.
Clinical implications of REST and TUBB3 in ovarian cancer and its relationship to paclitaxel resistance
- Song Gao, Xiaoyun Zhao, B. Lin, Zhen-hua Hu, Limei Yan, Jian Gao
- BiologyTumor Biology
- 10 June 2012
REST was more highly expressed in the ovarian SKOV3 carcinoma cell line compared to the paclitaxel-resistant ovarian cancer cell line,SKOV3/TAX (P = 0.01), and TUBB3 was morehighly expressed in SKOV 3/TAT cells compared to SKOV2 cells (P- 1.05), suggesting these proteins may be potential biomarkers for chemoresistance and prognosis in ovarian cancer.
Association of MDR1 gene polymorphisms with the risk of hepatocellular carcinoma in the Chinese Han population
- Jian Gao
- BiologyBrazilian journal of medical and biological…
- 1 March 2013
Polymorphisms of the MDR1 gene were associated with the risk of occurrence of HCC in the Chinese Han population, and further investigations are needed to confirm these results in larger different populations.
